The Chevy Bolt had an historic first year, selling 23,242 vehicles in the US and increasing sales in virtually every month. The Bolt was the best selling fully electric car available in the country. Obviously Detroit automakers can thrive in the electric car market and outperform individual Tesla models. In a sense it is also a success for Tesla. The California electric car maker has played a key role in compelling competitors around the world to take the electric vehicle market seriously, to compete, and to help evolve the clean energy transportation business.
